Grey Lynn 2030 Week: Day 3
Art Studios Tour

The morning tour took us to visit Jude Graveson’s studio where she creates membrane sculpture using animal gut, Annette Isbey, oil painter who has a huge studio set in lush gardens overlooking the zoo and to long established Westmere artists
Louise Rive and Chuck Joseph studio/shop Edge City (Old Mill Road). The tour finished at Karl Maughan’s studio tucked away in Grey Lynn.
The afternoon tour provided an opportunity to see glass artists Garry Nash and Peter Viesnik at work as well as a visit to Karen Chan and Roland Andreassend who gave a personal tour of their contemporary object designs at their studio on Rose Road.
The tour provided a fabulous opportunity to experience just how many creative people there are in our community at places we don’t usually get a chance to visit. The tours were also perfectly suited to cycling between the studios.
The tour is going to be repeated on Thursday. You can choose to do either morning or afternoon tours or both for a total artistic immersion, with time for lunch in between. You can see more photos from the tour here.
