Grey Lynn 2030 Week: Day 4

Tour of Lynda Hallinan’s Urban Garden

It was a full garden at Lynda Hallinan’s place this afternoon as she took a large group on a tour of her urban plot.  Lynda was amazingly generous with her time and keen to offer lots of advice and answer questions. Lynda was concerned her garden was not looking its best after a long, dry summer but the results of what she has been able to grow in a very urban environment are impressive.   You can regularly find Lynda at the Grey Lynn Farmers Market selling the surplus from her garden.

Thanks to Lynda for her support of the Grey Lynn 2030 Week and to everyone who came along . We received $110 in koha which will go towards more community planting by Grey Lynn 2030.  Our next monthly meeting on April 14th is on the theme of Community Gardens and will be a good opportunity to share more details about some of the plans under way.
