Fairtrade coffee and biscuits raise $170 for Oxfam
On behalf of Grey Lynn 2030 and the Grey Lynn Community Centre a big thank you to everyone who contributed to the Oxfam Coffee Break 2010 held at the GL Community Centre on Thursday 13 May.
We enjoyed delicious Fairtrade coffee and hot chocolate provided by Kokako with home made Fairtrade, organic Afghans by Tania’s mum, ANZAC biscuits made by Pippa’s mum and ginger slice made by our local nutritionist, Sarah James (www.eatrealfood.co.nz).
So many of the those who came along for a cuppa remarked on the how much better Fairtrade, organic food and coffee tastes. Kokako have supported a few of our events now so we particularly value their generosity.
A special thank you also to our helpers for the break Sarah Cole and Caroline Banks.
We received $170 in donations for the coffee and helped raise awareness of Fairtrade here in New Zealand as well as raising vital funds towards Oxfam’s work creating real and lasting change for people living in poverty.
