Indian cooking classes at the Grey Lynn Farmers’s Market
Indian Vegetarian Cooking Classes in August
Want to learn to cook Indian food like a pro? Indian Vegetarian cooking classes will be happening all of August on the 7th, 14th & 21st, 11am in the kitchen at the Grey Lynn Farmers Market.
The classes will be taught by experienced Indian cook and life-long vegetarian Varsha Belwalkar. They will cover a variety of dishes from basic curries, perfect basmati rice, to raitas, chutneys and drinks, all 100% vegetarian.
Classes cost $15 each and places are limited so if you are interested in attending one or all of these classes, email glfarmersmarket@gmail.com to register. Each class will run for one hour and there will be food to share at the end of each class.
Varsha will emphasise cooking with fresh seasonal vegetables, which an important aspect of Indian cooking, and will give you the insider tips on how to get your food tasting authentic. She uses minimal oil and fat and relies on fresh and dried spices to add flavour.
