Screening of A Plastic Ocean
We are proud to present a screening of A Plastic Ocean followed by a Speaker Q&A with Emily Frost.
The Film: A Plastic Ocean documents the newest science, proving how plastics, once they enter the oceans, break up into small particulates that enter the food chain where they
attract toxins like a magnet. These toxins are stored in
seafood’s fatty tissues, and eventually consumed by us.
The Speaker: Emily Frost has been researching in the area of marine biology and environmental/comparative
physiology, ecology and molecular biology for 8 years.
Emily is a scientific policy author for the United Nations
Environmental Programme editorials and attended the
2017 United Nations Oceans Conference.
