2020 Blanket Drive

In 2020 Grey Lynn Waste Away asked our community to Give A Kid A Blanke, again.

Winter in Tāmaki Makaurau gets awfully cold and there are families around our city with children who need extra support for warmth.

We invited our community to drop off new or pre-loved blankets and pyjamas at the Grey Lynn Community Centre, between the 2nd June and the 17th July 2020.

Altogether we received blankets, pyjamas, beanies, socks and scarves which totalled together a huge increase on last years collection.

A huge thank you to everybody who donated new or clean and used winter warmies for children around our city who need them most.

Also, we would like to give a special mention to Give A Kid A Blanket who run this awesome initiative each year, setting up the various drop-off location around the city, picking them up and delivering them to children and families around Auckland.
