A year, after the January 2023 floods, a group of locals met to discuss what makes a Resilient Community.

This is the foundation of Resiient Grey Lynn

A resilient community is one that possesses the capacity to:

• Prepare for: Anticipate potential hazards or disruptions, whether they be natural disasters, economic downturns, or social challenges.
• Adapt to: Adjust and modify our community and living in response to changing conditions.
• Withstand: Endure and minimise the negative impacts of adverse events.
• Recover rapidly: Bounce back and restore essential functions after a disruption.
