What’s happening to 33 Cockburn  Street?

To date (fall 2025) HRG had worked alongside the Auckland Council Recovery Office in an effort to have local input into the process of ‘redeveloping’ the affected areas in a way supported by the community.

As a result of an HRG led initiative data was collected and assessed to compile local feedback regarding the future use of the affected landscape.  This was presented to the Waitemata Local Board during its February Public meeting.

The Flood recovery process (Auckland wide) is now in the hands of the Auckland City Governing Body for decisions which will will shape the City wide recovery processes.

We believe that it is vital for local decision making to be a key part of this process.
