Grey Lynn RSC: Anzac Day 2025

Our Grey Lynn Returned Services Club, a stalwart of the community is buzzing with activity. Anzac Day is just a few days away.

Very late, last Thursday night, after month’s of glorious summer weather, Auckland’s weather changed. A heavy thunderstorm was forecast as part of  Cyclone Tam. During the night a section of the roof, weakened by the torrential rain gave way. Water has leaked into the upstairs hall, the kitchen and Kris’s office. The damage is at the front of the building. The main hall area near the pool table is currently being dried.

The Anzac Day service, scheduled for this Friday is not in jeopardy. The Grey Lynn RSC is more than just a venue; it was a symbol of remembrance, a place where the community gathers to honour its fallen. But the spirit of the Grey Lynn community, like the spirit of the Anzacs, is not easily broken.  People have worked for days mopping and cleaning Everything will be ready for Anzac Day commemerations 2025.
