Winter Planting: Grey Lynn Ecological Restoration Projects May 2025
Late Autumn is the perfect time for planting, weeding. Consequently there are 3 working bees in the next few weeks.
-
Autumn (April-May):
This is a good time as the ground is still warm and the weather is relatively mild, allowing plants to establish roots before the winter rains.
-
Winter (June-August):Winter is a good time to plant too as there’s plenty of moisture in the soil, and plants can get established before spring.
