Car Boot Market at Grey Lynn
Since 2011, we have been running the Grey Lynn car boot market. It is a great local alternative to running your own garage sale, no advertising necessary (we take care of that), no strangers descending on your home and no need for the hassles with Facebook marketplace and Trade Me.
How it Works
You can sell from a table, your car boot or from the ground (bring a mat). The market is for second hand items only – no new stuff as we think there is already enough stuff on our planet..
- Date: Last Sunday of each month (except December when it is the Sunday before Christmas)
- Location: Grey Lynn RSC Carpark, 1 Francis Street, Grey Lynn
- Time: 8.00 am - 11.30
Grey Lynn Car Boot Market: Seller Information 2025
Payment & Booking:
- A stall fee of $30 is required.
- Booking is via Humanitix.
- Find Grey Lynn Car Boot Market and the month you want to book in for. We use Humanitix so we can contact you if we need to cancel due to bad weather.
- Pre-payment is essential to guarantee a space.
- You can turn up on the morning but you may not get a space.
- Fees are non-refundable and non-transferable due to incurred advertising and operational costs.
- Market cancellation due to severe weather will be announced via the Facebook page the night before. We will contact you via your Humantix booking so please check your email.
- Seller attendance in light rain is at sellers discretion.

Setup & Logistics:
- Arrive between 6.30 and 7.30 am to setup.
- Please be mindful of nearby residents and minimise noise (e.g car music).
- The Market organiser in high-visibility vests will direct you to available spaces.
- Spaces are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Stall spaces are car-sized. Awnings are permitted, but please keep them within your allocated space.
- Sellers are encouraged to bring mats, tables, and hangers for displaying goods.
- After unloading, please move your vehicle to the parking area in front of the Auckland Women’s Centre, 4 Warnock Street (down the driveway).
- Bring cash and small change for transactions.
- Prepare for varying weather conditions (sun, rain, etc.). Consider bringing a chair, water, sunhat, and a tarp or 3x3 pop-up for protection.
Communication:
- For updates, especially regarding weather cancellations, please follow our Facebook page:
